💰 Salary / Pay Scale
Selected candidates will receive:
Pay Band-2: ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 + Grade Pay ₹6,200
Other applicable allowances will be provided as admissible from time to time.
🎓 Educational Qualification
For direct recruitment to the Veterinary Field Assistant cadre, candidates must have:
- Passed full-time HSSLC (Class 12) examination
- Science stream
- Biology must be one of the subjects
- Qualification must be from a recognized Board/Council/University.
🎂 Age Limit
The candidate must:
- Be at least 18 years old as on 1 January 2026
- Not be more than 40 years old as on 1 January 2026

🇮🇳 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must:
- Be an Indian Citizen as defined under Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
- Be a permanent resident of Assam.
- Upload a valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued in Assam for educational purposes as proof of domicile.
PwBD Candidates
Candidates applying under the PwBD category must have a Benchmark Disability of 40% or more and must produce the required certificate issued by the competent authority.

The selection will be conducted in accordance with Schedule II and Rules 6 and 8 of the Assam Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Subordinate Services (Amendment) Rules, 2026.

🐄 Mandatory One-Year Training
Selected candidates must undergo one year of mandatory training in Elementary Knowledge of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science.
The training will be conducted at the School of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Assam, Ghungoor, Silchar, and its extended campuses under the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department.
Candidates must successfully complete the prescribed training before appointment with the prescribed pay scale.
Training Examination
- Candidates will be allowed a maximum of three chances to qualify in the examination.
- Candidates failing a subject may subsequently appear for re-examination.
- Failure to qualify within three chances will make the candidate ineligible for appointment.
- Selected candidates must execute the prescribed bond before joining the training course.
