National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, has released a recruitment notification for filling up 60 vacancies for the post of Deputy Manager (Technical). These positions are being filled on a Direct Recruitment basis through the GATE 2026 score in the discipline of Civil Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification
- Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
- For Final Year Students: Candidates whose final results have not been declared by June 15, 2026, can also apply. However, their selection will remain conditional, and they must submit their final or provisional degree certificate to NHAI latest by August 31, 2026, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.
2. Age Limit (As on June 15, 2026)
- Candidates must not exceed 30 years of age.
Upper Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST Candidates: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates: 3 years
- PwBD Candidates: 10 years (General), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST)
- Ex-Servicemen: 5 years
Selection Process
- GATE 2026 Score: Shortlisting and selection will be done purely on the basis of a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 score in the Civil Engineering discipline.
- Tie-Breaking Rule: In case multiple candidates secure the same rank, the older candidate (born earlier) will be placed higher in the merit list. If the date of birth is also identical, merit will be decided in alphabetical order of their initial names.
- Service Bond: Selected candidates will be required to execute a Service Bond of Rs. 5.00 Lakhs to serve NHAI for a minimum period of 3 years from the date of joining.
Key Application Requirements
- OBC-NCL Certificate: Must be issued on or after April 1, 2026, for the Financial Year 2026-2027.
- EWS Certificate: Must be based on the income of the Financial Year 2025-2026 and issued on or after April 1, 2026.
- Job Liability: The position carries an All India Service Liability, meaning selected candidates must be willing to serve anywhere in India.
