⏳ Age Limit (As on 31/07/2026)
The maximum age limit varies depending on the stream and category:
- For Engineering Streams (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Instrumentation):
- Unreserved / EWS: 26 Years
- OBC (NCL): 29 Years
- SC / ST: 31 Years
- For Geology Stream:
- Unreserved / EWS: 27 Years
- OBC (NCL): 30 Years
- SC / ST: 32 Years
(Note: Age relaxation is applicable for PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and Departmental candidates as per government rules).
💰 Salary & Emoluments
- Pay Scale: Rs. 60,000 – 1,80,000/- (E1 Level)
- CTC: Approximately Rs. 26 Lakhs
- Allowances: Includes 35% Basic Pay under Cafeteria Approach, Dearness Allowance, HRA, Medical Facility, Gratuity, and Performance Related Pay (PRP).
💵 Application Fee
- General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 1000/- (plus convenience fee/bank commission and GST)
- SC / ST / PwBD: NIL (No charges)
- Payment Mode: Online only; fees are non-refundable.
🎯 Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The selection process consists of three stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT): Carries a weightage of 85 marks.
- The test duration is 2 hours and consists of Multiple-Choice Questions.
- Sections: Concerned Domain (40 Qs), General Awareness (10 Qs), Aptitude Test (25 Qs), English Language (10 Qs).
- There is NO negative marking in the CBT.
- Personal Interview: Carries a weightage of 15 marks. Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview in a 1:5 ratio based on their CBT scores.
- Medical Fitness Examination: Final selection is subject to meeting ONGC’s medical standards.
📍 CBT Exam Centers: The exam will be held in multiple cities across India, including Guwahati, Kolkata, Delhi (NCR), and others. Candidates must select their test center preference during registration.
