Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026 Notification

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the information bulletin for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026. Interested candidates can apply online through the official CTET website between May 11 and June 10, 2026.

Application Fee

The examination fee must be paid online via Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking.

Examination Schedule

The exam will be conducted in two shifts on September 6, 2026. In case of a high volume of candidates, some exams may also be held on September 5, 2026.

  • Paper-II (Morning Shift): 09:30 AM to 12:00 NOON
  • Paper-I (Evening Shift): 02:30 PM to 05:00 PM
  • Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes for each paper.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Paper I (Classes I to V): Minimum qualifications as notified by the NCTE.
  • Paper II (Classes VI to VIII): Minimum qualifications as per NCTE regulations and respective school recruitment rules.
  • Qualifying Marks: A person scoring 60% or more will be considered CTET pass.
  • Validity: The CTET qualifying certificate is valid for lifetime.

How to Apply

Candidates must follow these steps to register on ctet.nic.in or cbse.gov.in:

  1. Authentication: Fill in basic details like State, Identity type, and Name.
  2. Online Form: Complete the application and choose a secure password.
  3. Upload Images: Provide a scanned latest photograph (10–100 KB) and signature (3–30 KB) in JPG/JPEG format.
  4. Fee Payment: Pay the fee through the online payment gateway.
  5. Confirmation Page: Print and retain the confirmation page for future reference.

Structure and Syllabus

  • Mode: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying 1 mark.
  • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking.
  • Language of Paper: Bilingual (Hindi/English).
  • Subjects:
    • Paper I: Child Development & Pedagogy, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Language I, and Language II.
    • Paper II: Child Development & Pedagogy, Mathematics & Science OR Social Studies/Social Science, Language I, and Language II.
