3. Eligibility Criteria (As of 01/01/2026)
Age Limits
- Constable (Driver): 21 to 27 years. Candidates must be born between 02/01/1999 and 01/01/2005.
- Other Trades: 18 to 23 years. Candidates must be born between 02/01/2003 and 01/01/2008.
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), and Ex-Servicemen (3 years after service deduction).
Educational & Technical Qualifications
- Constable (Driver): Minimum Matriculation (10th pass) and must possess a Heavy Transport Vehicle Driving License.
- Constable (MMV): 10th pass (10+2 system) and 2 years ITI certificate in Mechanic Motor Vehicle with 1 year practical experience.
- Other Tradesmen: Minimum Matriculation (10th pass) and must be proficient in their respective trades.
4. Physical Standards (PST)
For candidates from Assam, relaxed height and chest standards are applicable:
- Height:
- Male: 165.0 Cms.
- Female: 155.0 Cms.
- Chest (Male Only):
- Un-expanded: 78 Cms.
- Minimum Expansion: 5 Cms.
5. Recruitment Stages
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): A race must be completed within the following limits:
- Male (Driver/MMV/Bugler/etc.): 5 Kms in 24 minutes.
- Female (Bugler/etc.): 1.6 Kms in 8.30 minutes.
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Measurement of height, weight, and chest.
- Computer Based Test (CBT): 100 objective questions (2 hours) covering:
- General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 marks).
- General Knowledge & Awareness (25 marks).
- Elementary Mathematics (25 marks).
- English/Hindi (25 marks).
- Note: There is a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
- Trade Test: Practical skill test (50 marks, 20 required to qualify).
- Document Verification & Medical Examination (DME/RME).
6. Important Note for Assam Candidates
Since the State of Assam does not issue Domicile/Permanent Residence Certificates (PRC), candidates from Assam are not required to submit them. However, their selection is strictly subject to the verification of their residential status by concerned District Authorities.
7. Application Fee
- Rs. 100/- for Male candidates (General, EWS, and OBC only).
- Exempted: SC, ST, Females (all categories), and Ex-servicemen.
